Participating in dual credit coursework enables students to complete courses needed to meet high school graduation requirements while at the same time earning college credits applicable toward an eventual degree program. Dual credit coursework serves to challenge students at a level not normally found in general high school courses. Dual Credit courses are available for Juniors and Seniors only.
Dual credit courses will be taught by a staff member in a traditional classroom setting. CCC or Wesleyn University content and objectives will be covered as part of a regular high school course with students completing additional work/reading in order to earn college credit; high school class enrollment is not limited to college enrollees only.
Grade requirements
Passing grade: A "C" is the most common minimum grade to pass and receive transferable credit.
Transferability: For a course to be accepted for transfer credit, the new university often requires a minimum grade of "C" or "C-".
Negative impact: A grade of "D" is often considered a failing grade for college credit and will count against your GPA, potentially making it harder to get into other colleges or receive scholarships.
Prerequisites: Many college-level prerequisites require a "C" or better to advance to the next course in a sequence.
Important considerations
Check the syllabus: The specific grading scale and requirements are documented in the course syllabus provided by the instructor.
Consult advisors: It's always a good idea to consult with academic advisors at both your high school and the college to ensure credits will transfer and count toward your degree.
Impact on GPA: Grades from dual credit classes will appear on your official college transcript and will factor into your GPA, which is why it's important to pass with a strong grade.

TRANSFEROLOGY
Transferology is a nation-wide network designed to help students explore their college transfer options. Students can answer the question "Will my courses transfer?" by adding coursework, exams and/or military learning experiences to see how many schools in the network have matching courses that may be awarded when they transfer. They can also find out what their options are for taking classes over the summer (or whenever) at another school to transfer back to their current school by using the "Find a Replacement Course" feature.
It is FREE to use. Set up an account, fill in the information for the college classes that you have taken and find out the percentage of the classes that will transfer to a different financial institution.
