NCAA RULES
If you intend to participate in Division I or II athletics as a freshman in college you must be registered with and be certified as eligible by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse. If you are first entering a Division I college or university, you need to graduate from high school and have a minimum grade point average of at least a 2.3 in a core curriculum of at least 14 academic courses and achieve a qualifying test score on the ACT or SAT.
To register, students need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center to ensure they have met amateurism standards and are academically prepared for college coursework. Registration should be done as soon as you have decided to play college sports and after your transcript contains your junior year grades. The release form authorizes high schools to release student transcripts to the Clearinghouse. It also authorizes the Clearinghouse to release students’ information to colleges that request it. This is not binding document. If you register late you may face delays that will prevent you from practicing and competing.
